Now FINAL FRIDAYS return marks a complete full circle and a return to the ways of the blues artists that used to permeate the sounds of the streets of Deep Ellum in the late 30's-early 40's. unique in all it's sounds and ways!! The Robert Glasper Experiment Tour is the hottest tour in the country and they will grace the stage of the historic Kessler Theater. “The Kessler Theater is one such gem, an Art Deco beauty … for a slice of real life, there’s always the Kessler.” – Ben Fountain, New York Times Tickets available General Admission: $20 Reserved Seating: $30 Click HERE to purchase. Kessler Theater 1230 West Davis St. Dallas, TX 75208 Kitchen & Bar @ 6pm- Dinner & Drinks before the show. Doors at 7pm Show at 8pm Robert Glasper has long kept one foot planted firmly in jazz and the other in hip-hop and R&B. He?s worked extensively with Q-Tip, playing keyboards on the rapper?s 2008 album The Renaissance and co-writing the album single “Life Is Better” which featured his label mate Norah Jones. Glasper also serves as the music director in Mos Def?s touring band, and has toured with the multi-platinum R&B singer Maxwell. The Los Angeles Times once wrote that “it's a short list of jazz pianists who have the wherewithal to drop a J Dilla reference into a Thelonious Monk cover, but not many jazz pianists are Robert Glasper,” adding that “he's equally comfortable in the worlds of hip-hop and jazz,” and praising the organic way in which he “builds a bridge between his two musical touchstones.” Lafayette, LA based band, Vagabond Swing, creates the driving force behind their music with their uninhibited blending of styles and creativity. With their musical roots ranging from bluegrass to ska, the band produces a surprisingly smooth mixture of progressive Gypsy/Experimental/Circus-vibe/Swing tunes. Along with their melodic energy, the band members themselves bring on a show of vibrant, youthful spunk, which gives their performance a thrashing air of excitement. Grammy 2012: S1 of Dallas/Ft. Worth area comes up a WINNER!
When "Power" dropped the internet nearly exploded. The first single off My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy and a perfect example of Kanye West's progression as an artist.
![]() When asked about Kanye's absence from Sunday's awards, S1 explains "I applaud my brother Kanye. While majority of the industry is at this event, he's constantly working to stay ahead of everyone else." Which we can only hope he's completing the G.O.O.D Music album or some solo material. Everyone should have goals in this industry and Symbolyc One has achieved something he always aspired for. "Grammys were definitely number one on my bucket list of achievements. There's MAJOR artist/groups/producers that has been nominated but..never won. So for me to get a Grammy from the album off my first major single it's a blessing. This is equivalent to a football player winning the Superbowl." Who would he thank first if he was given a thank you speech opportunity, "I give ALL the praises to my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!" Clap for him! - Sean Lynch (@Kiddfuture) / SOURCE MAG. The Marcus Graham Project: 3 DAYS LEFT to Win A Trip to LA for Oscar Weekend
